1-24-2026 UPDATE

Assistance is required from every city resident, by removing their parked vehicles from the roadways.  This will allow city snowplows and other equipment to maneuver safely and quickly. Any vehicle parked on the roadway may become blocked by the plowed snow.  City of St. Matthews Public Works crews are working diligently to keep all STM streets clear of snow. By doing so, emergency responders to STM homes & businesses, and residents needing to travel to other destinations, can do so safely.  Please help us notify your neighbors, who may not yet participate in the city’s message systems of Reach Alert, Facebook, or Website notifications. If you see a neighbors car parked on your street, please share this message with them. It is for everyone’s benefit.

Snow advisory. The City of St. Matthews operates a comprehensive snow treatment program. All public streets within the city receive snow treatment service. Naturally, main thoroughfares receive fist attention, then in a scheduled manner, all residential streets are treated. During this time, we ask that all vehicles be parked off of the roadway to allow the snowplows and other equipment to maneuver safely and properly clear your road. It is important to remember that this snow event is expected to be a 36-hour event, therefore, crews will be making several efforts to clear the streets. Snowplows may continually block driveway entrances with snow as they work to clear the streets. Thank you for your cooperation during the snow event.

Please know that all major roads, including Browns Lane, Bowling Boulevard, Breckenridge Lane, Chenoweth Lane, Dutchman’s Lane, Hubbards Lane, Kresge Way, New Lagrange Road, Shelbyville Road, Washburn Ave, and Westport Road, are the responsibility of Louisville Metro and the State of Kentucky.
