The meeting of the City Council was called to order at 7:00 p.m., at City Hall.

MINUTES: Motion was made by Councilman Tonini, seconded by Councilman Schade to

approve the minutes of the special meeting of September 29, 2009.

 

Upon vote (7-0), the minutes were unanimously approved.

 

 

Larkin Fore passed out a handout and made a presentation on behalf of Beverage Warehouse, with reasons to deny a license to Liquor Barn.

 

Mr. Ken Handmaker spoke on behalf of Liquor Barn with reasons for them to receive a license.

 

 

Councilman Tonini made a motion to place a hearing for Liquor Barn on the agenda for the next meeting on October 27, 2009, seconded by Councilman Flynn.

 

Upon vote (7-0), the motion was unanimously approved.

BILLS: Motion was made by Councilman Tonini, seconded by Councilman Vincent to approve the list of large bills attached.

 

Upon vote (7-0), the motion was unanimously approved.

 

The motion was made by Councilman Tonini, seconded by Councilman Vincent to approve the list of small bills attached.

 

Upon vote (7-0), the motion was unanimously approved.

 

 

COMMITTEE REPORTS

 

Councilman Tonini

 

  • Announced that the grant application for a new generator has been denied. Purchasing a new generator will be on the agenda for the next meeting on October 27, 2009.

 

  • Residents on Ridgeway Avenue inquired about getting speed bumps installed, due to speeding. Police department will run radar and the Smart Machine will be placed on Ridgeway Avenue to deter speeding.

 

  • Two people will go to school to learn how to receive the equipment we received from the stimulus money.

 

  • The new cars are in and are being marked and readied for placement in service.

 

Councilman Flynn

 

  • Announced that the city has saved $260,000 on health insurance and $90,000 on property insurance for a total of $350,000 in just one year.

 

 

ADJOURN: Upon motion made by Councilman Tonini and seconded by Councilman Vincent the meeting was adjourned at 7:51 p.m.
