The meeting of the City Council was called to order at 7:00 p.m., at City Hall.

The following were present:

MINUTES: Motion was made by Councilman Tonini, seconded by Councilman Nay to
approve the minutes of the meeting of October 26, 2010.

Upon vote (7-0), the minutes were unanimously approved.

Mr. Fenzel of 817 Browns Lane inquired on the status of the monorail. Mayor Bowling stated that a meeting is scheduled for Tuesday, November 10, 2010 at city hall.

Catherine Williams of 313 N. Bonner Avenue asked about having speed humps installed on N. Bonner Avenue. Councilman Nay referred Ms. Williams to the website for what she needs to do for having speed humps.

Mr. Marty Nemes made a presentation about Kentucky League of Cities.

Councilman Tonini made a motion for the city to make a donation of $1,000 or less, to the work release program, seconded by Councilman Monohan.

Upon vote (7-0), the motion was unanimously approved.
Councilman Tonini made a motion for the purchase and installation of an alarm system for the Works Department building not to exceed $1,924.00, seconded by Councilman Monohan.

Upon vote (7-0), the motion was unanimously approved.

BILLS: Motion was made by Councilman Tonini, seconded by Councilman Nay to approve the list of bills, attached, for payment, total $357,581.32.

Upon vote (7-0), the motion was unanimously approved.

COMMITTEE REPORTS

Councilman Monohan

Some work has started at Community Center Park.

Waiting on signs on non-native growth at Brown Park.

Councilman Tonini

Announced that the police department is hiring a retired officer from Shepherdsville, Kentucky, he is a dog handler (K9). Extra $1,500.00 to pay for dog’s food and training.

Introduced J. Kaelin as new police officer.

Mayor Bowling reminded everyone of the Jefferson County League of Cities dinner on November 18, 2010.

Mayor Bowling informed the council that St. Matthews Area Business Association lost the “Light Up St. Matthews” banner. They will pay for a replacement.
