Many members of the public have contacted St. Matthews Public Works with questions and concerns about the current construction project on Chenoweth Lane, being completed by the Louisville Paving Company, which spans the area from the Railroad tracks, north to Brownsboro Road.
Here’s what you should know.
The purpose of the Chenoweth Lane project is to add a center turning lane from Massie Avenue south to the Railroad crossing, along with the installation of sidewalks, down Chenoweth, on the west side of the road, to Brownsboro Road. The project is expected to be complete by August 31, 2026. Given that Chenoweth Lane is a state road, the project is under the jurisdiction of the Kentucky Transportation Cabinet (KYTC) and therefore, the City of St. Matthews has no involvement in the project. It is strongly suggested that anyone with questions or concerns, about this project, reach out directly to the KYTC District 5 office at 502-210-5400 for accurate information and updates.
