An officer of the St. Matthews Police Department can take a police report at your home or place of business located within the City of St. Matthews 24 hours per day. Call the St. Matthews Police Department dispatcher at 502-893-9000 to request an officer. All reports should be made at the site of the offense, so that the officer can see the problem first hand. The police officer will give you a card with the report number written on it. Please retain this card for easy identification in any future communications regarding your report or when requesting copies.

Obtain a Copy of a Report
Copies of police reports can be obtained in person at the St. Matthews Police station located in the St. Matthews City Hall, 3940 Grandview Avenue, between Breckenridge and Browns Lanes during normal business hours of 8:00 am to 4:00pm. There is a $5.00 charge for a copy of the report. Please bring the card issued to you by the reporting officer. It will have the report number written on it, which allows for faster service.
For your convenience, accident reports are available online at www.BuyCrash.com. The charge for the online report is $10.00. All information required to purchase the report online can be found on the Buy Crash business card, issued from the reporting officer.
Your written request must include the following:
- The name of the person who filed the report and the report number printed clearly on a sheet of paper.
- Cash, check or money order in the amount of $5.00 is required. Check or money order should be made payable to the St. Matthews Police Department
- A standard #10 self addressed stamped envelope
